Review of Samsung Internet@TV Part 1 of 3
Internet TV and home media servers are the “Wave of the future” to use an old cliche. In about 20 years or possibly less, there will likely not be Cable TV stations as we know them today. Most of their content will be on the internet, possibly free with advertising or at a small monthly fee, and it will be more geared toward Video on Demand rather than schedule based. You’ll buy and download movies (hopefully at a reasonably low cost) rather than buying them on DVD or Blue Ray. Either that or stream them from the source. You’ll also be listening to Internet radio in your car and XM will go the way of the 8-track.The future is already here, just not in that many homes beyond the desktop or laptop yet. This is a review of what the current “future” as on a Samsung internet ready TV. We got thisTV from EastCoastTVs.com for about 00 at the time,. Camera and Wireless LAN device not included.

is there any apps for checking your yahoo email? please let me know.. thanks.. =)
how about for browsing online or some kind?
@kurtestinoso I just went through the Yahoo gadgets and InternetTV aps to see if there were any new programs, but unfortunately, there is still not an application for browsing web pages or checking email of any sorts (unless you include face book perhaps). They are constantly coming out with updates and new aps though, and if I find an ap that does any of this, I’ll let you know
Rather have a pc hooked up to my “old” tv..
Much more freedom..
@hvah I made this vid prior to knowing about it, but you might want to check out GoogleTV. For around $400 bucks they have a blueray player that can be hooked to an old TV that has better internet browsing capability and an ap market somewhat like the droid market. It looks promising, however i am not sure if it has the ability to DVR on its own or play video over the network from a server, so if not, might be best to stick with Windows MC or XBMC.
can you lan port insted of the wireless???
@joelouiswright Yes, it has a 8P8C F adapter for it’s internal NIC included. I am not sure if it is a 100mbps or 1gps. Guess I need to conduct some research on that.
so what button on the remote are you hitting because nothing seems to come up. thanks
@joelouiswright ‘Internet @ Tv’. Is the TV getting an IP address? usually the menu won’t come up until it has an IP.
At the youtube app. When your searching for sometimes and play it. After the video will it countinue to play the next video automaticly? or does it stop at menu? This is very important for me to know. Thank you
@w8t2009 It doesn’t autoplay the next item that it suggests to play, so no, but, let’s say you search for Rolling Stones. It will give you a long list of Rolling Stones videos. You can choose or check mark all of the videos and hit ‘play all’, and then it will continue on to the next video. Only problem is it doesn’t play continuously in full screen, or at least i haven’t found a way to force it to do that. I believe you can also play play lists, but i need to double check on that
This is kinda stupid. If he wanted the thing for youtube, just by a laptop and watch your stupid videos and other crap that ppl with no life like you would watch.
@jat12398 Ok, lets put it this way. Long day at work, don’t want to sit at the desk in front of a computer. You get tired of the “Dancing with the Stars” marathon and want to watch new and original videos on youtube without leaving the comfort of your couch. Open Youtube app with the remote control. With a computer hooked up to the TV, you have Windows overhead. Built into TV, you don’t. You sound like the old man complaining about washing machines and telling me just to get a washboard instead.
